4th International Women & their Microbes Conference - Microbial Management in Pregnancy

If you are a woman, were born from a woman, work with women, then this symposium is a must attend!  There’s something for everyone!

Key Dates

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to attend the 4th edition of the conference, Women & their Microbes, on March 6-7, 2019 Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The Women & their Microbes was established in 2015 as the first conference to focus completely on the role of microbes in women’s health, as a result of the lack of conference attention given to this field by the scientific and medical community.

The theme for 2019 is “Microbial Management in Pregnancy“. The program includes a clinical half-day on March 6th that will feature practice-changing science about microbiota management strategies within pregnancy. March 7th will feature a full research day packed full with microbiota pregnancy-related lectures, workshops and masterclasses, discussion panels, rapid-fire talks, and posters. Confirmed speakers include Prof. Kjersti Aagaard, Prof. Deborah Sloboda, Prof. John Bienenstock, Prof. Emma Allen-Vercoe, Prof Gregor Reid, Dr. Jessica ter Haar (Younes), Prof. Ruben Hummelen, Dr. Dragana Sunjic and we expect about 200 attendees with clinical, research, and industry backgrounds.

Conference highlights include:

Keywords: Pregnancy, microbiota, probiotics, neonatal colonization, NEC, diabetes, weight gain, GBS, atopy, vaginal infections, constipation, metabolomics, microbiome research, etc.

Cutting-Edge Content: Understanding the importance of the microbiota in pregnancy and strategies that impact the microbial maternal-infant relationship.

Quality Program: We have a program packed full of clinical and academic experts united in their efforts to unravel microbiota management for women.

Location: This conference will be hosted in beautiful Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the city of waterfalls and a Canadian hotbed of microbiota research.
