ESGO Regional Course on Ovarian Cancer Surgery
An exclusive 1-day course held in Saint Petersburg, Russia has been developped by ESGO in partnership with the local expert societies, the Russian Society of Gynaecological Oncology (RSGO), Saint Petersburg Cancer Research Society and the Association of Oncologists of The Northwestern Federal District.
A new format combining the ESGO and local expertize is designed for surgeons from Russia and neighboring countries.

PRACTICAL VIDEO LECTURES – TIPS & TRICKS – CADAVER HAND´S ON TRAINING
Summary
One full day clinically oriented hands-on training course for intermediate to experienced level surgeons is an exclusive opportunity to learn from and listen to the most experienced European and Russian surgeons.
The Course program features theoretical presentations, practical video lectures showing useful tips and trics and an exclusive cadaver lab hands-on training. As a pre-requisite, the participants are expected to pass online lectures of ESGO Advanced course of Ovarian cancer surgery available at ESGO Gynae Oncological eAcademy.
The course will be conducted in English.
Target Audience
The ideal profile of the course candidate is an intermediate to experienced gynaecological oncologist looking to improve his/her surgical skills of management of complex oncological cases. The course is co-organised by the local experts’ societies and is designed for participants from Russia and neighboring countries. The language of the course will be English.
Course is limited to 9 surgeons enabling three attendees to be assigned per cadaver.
Learning Objectives
- Improve knowledge and skills in the management of advanced ovarian cancer
- Acquire comprehensive update on different types of debulking surgeries and the effects of radical surgeries
- Understand how to manage special surgical situations
- Practice on cadavers to advance surgical techniques and procedures
The final aims to improve the training of surgeons and elevate the standards of knowledge on management of surgical aspects of gynaecological cancers treatment across Europe through hands-on training.

Application process:
Following documents should be provided (in Russian):
- Filled-in Application form
- Filled-in Surgical experience assessment form
- Brief professional background (CV)
Applications will be treated on first come-first served basis with respect to geographical balance of countries and regions as well as level of experience judged by the committee. Priority is given to gynae surgeons from Russia and neighboring countries fluent in English.
Remarks:
- If the fee is not received within 10 days after the receipt of acceptance of attendance, the position will be offered to the next suitable applicant.
- ESGO membership for 2019 is a mandatory condition for attendance. View the ESGO membership renewals and application.
- The final registration can only be confirmed upon receipt of payment of the course package fee.
- Should we receive a cancellation, wait-listed applicants will be contacted by the course Secretariat.
