We announced in September 2017 that Pedro T. Ramirez, MD was selected as the new Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal for Gynecological Cancer.
As you might remember in 2017 we jointly conducted a search after learning of Dr. Uzi Beller’s decision to step down from the position after more than ten years of service.
Since this announcement, Dr. Ramirez has been busy establishing new policies and procedures for IJGC collaboratively, working with our Councils to set metrics by which we will evaluate the progress and continued success and, most importantly, assembling and training a team of outstanding and committed Associate Editors and Editorial Board Members.
Dr. Ramirez said recently that “we are extremely excited to start as the incoming Editorial Team of the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer and look forward to receiving outstanding quality research.”
We have also contracted with a professional editorial services firm, J&J Editorial, to assist Dr. Ramirez with the day-to-day operations of running a professional journal. Lindsey Struckmeyer will be the Managing Editor fulfilling this role from J&J Editorial. She is an outstanding individual with over 5 years in the Managing Editor role overseeing multiple journals.
Beginning July 1, 2018, all new manuscript submissions will be reviewed by Dr. Ramirez and his editorial team. Submissions will continue to be sent to the Editorial Manager submission site at http://www.editorialmanager.com/igc/default.aspx.
Dr. Beller will finish out the remainder of the year finalizing the last issues of 2018 with the manuscripts submitted prior to June 30, 2018.
Dr. Ramirez is well positioned to build on past successes and continue the work of making IJGC the best it can be.
Sincerely,
Prof. Denis Querleu
ESGO President
Prof. Michael Quinn
