Course on Molecular Pathology and Targeted Therapy in Gynaecological Cancers

Overview

» Don’t miss out on your opportunity to learn from experts in the field

This course is focusing on the molecular pathology of gynaecological cancers and how knowledge of developments in this field has impacted on the understanding of diseases and how this information can be used to develop a targeted therapeutic approach. The course will be taught by an international faculty of Pathologists and Clinicians to integrate learning in this rapidly advancing field.

The course will cover key elements of Molecular Pathology of Ovarian, Endometrial and Cervical Cancers. Each topic will relate directly to the clinical relevance of the area. The key subject areas are

  • Molecular Markers in High Grade Ovarian Cancer
  • Low Grade Ovarian Cancers
  • Clear Cell Ovarian Cancer
  • Endometrial tumours, including trophoblastic disease
  • Cervical and Vulval Cancers

The format will include brief presentations followed by interactive discussion with the audience. There will be a special session focused on case studies presentations and discussions.

Target Audience

The course is aimed at Gynaecological Oncologists, Medical and Clinical (Radiation) Oncologists working in Gynaecological Cancers. It will also be of interest to Gynaecological Pathologists who wish to expand their knowledge of therapeutics. It is anticipated that the course will be particularly attractive to new specialists in the field as well as senior trainees.

Teaching Format

Short lecture-style presentations will be followed by frequent periods of discussion, led by Faculty and specifically designed to encourage audience participation.

Learning Objectives

Acquire updated knowledge of molecular pathology of gynaecological malignancies

Improve understanding of the therapeutic approaches to gynaecological cancer treatment through developments in molecular pathology

Understand the terminology and techniques to determine the molecular characteristics of gynaecological cancers and how these characteristics improve knowledge of disease

Obtain up to date integrated information on molecular pathology from a multidisciplinary faculty
