An Exclusive 3-Day Course at the European Surgical Institute organized by ESGO. Attendance to the course is limited to 21 participants enabling 3 attendees to be assigned per cadaver.
The advanced course in Ovarian Cancer Surgery, organized by ESGO on December 5 - 7, 2019 in Hamburg, Germany, aims to improve the training of surgeons and elevate the standards of knowledge on management of surgical aspects of gynaecological cancers treatment across Europe through hands-on training. This course for intermediate to experienced level surgeons is an exclusive opportunity to learn from and listen to the most experienced European surgeons.
Target Audience
The ideal profile of the course candidate is an experienced gynaecological oncologist looking to improve the handling of complex oncological cases and fluent in English.
Learning Objectives
Improve knowledge and skills in the management of advanced ovarian cancer surgery
Acquire comprehensive update on different types of debulking surgeries and the effects of radical surgeries
Understand how to manage special surgical situations and select patients for radical surgeries
Obtain first hand knowledge from a live surgery to enhance your experience
Practice on cadavers to advance surgical techniques and procedures

The Course program features advanced theoretical lectures, 2 live surgeries and an exclusive cadaver lab hands-on training at the J&J Medical Institute in Hamburg, Germany.

Registration will be opened at the end of June 2019. Applications may not be wait-listed.
As a result of the inherent limited space, the 21 participants will be selected after an application process, with respect to geographical balance of countries and regions as well as level of experience judged by the committee, according to the brief description of professional background provided to the jury.
ESGO membership for 2019/2020 is a mandatory condition for attendance. View the ESGO membership renewals and application.

Fee includes
- Admission fee to the course
- Accommodation for 2 nights in a single room, in a standard hotel in the vicinity of the course venue
- Transfers from the course venue to the hotel (and back) will be arranged during the course days. Transfer to the airport on December 7, 2019 is not provided
- Coffee breaks, lunches and welcome dinner
Attendee inclusion criteria
- Age ≥35 years
- Completion of training in gynaecologic oncology (if in a country with recognised accreditation) or at least 5 years’ experience in gynaecologic oncology
