NHS eLearning course on Genetic testing for Lynch syndrome at endometrial cancer diagnosis

Unselected genetic testing at endometrial cancer diagnosis is now recommended in guidelines for all endometrial cancer patients to identify those with MMR deficiency and Lynch Syndrome.
Implementation in practice has been variable across clinical services, cancer teams and health systems.

Given the paucity of resources in clinical genetics services, this is now being implemented by health professionals in cancer teams. A big bottleneck and gap has been training of gynaecology/gynae oncology professionals to be able to deliver the counselling and testing.

In order to address the issue and support training and implementation NHS has developed teaching/training modules for health professionals involved in gynae cancer care including doctors (consultants/trainees), nurses, allied health professionals.

It consists of three interactive modules. It takes approximately one hour to complete all three modules. Online certification is available immediately for colleagues who complete the pre-programme knowledge assessment, the three e-learning modules, and the programme feedback.

This is now freely available and being implemented across the UK NHS through the learning hub portal.

In order to support international colleagues, NHS has made this freely available through their eIntegrity portal (corresponding international interface)
