ESGO NEWS: Move to Brussels

ESGO’s Strategic Move to Brussels

Strengthening Advocacy and Collaboration to Shape the Future of Gynaecological Oncology Care in Europe

Dear ESGO members and colleagues,

We are excited to share a significant milestone in ESGO’s journey, as we continue to expand our influence and impact in gynaecological oncology in Europe. As part of our strategic goals, ESGO has officially moved its seat from Geneva, Switzerland, to Brussels, Belgium—a decision agreed upon at the 2022 General Assembly in Berlin, Germany.

This move is a crucial step in positioning ESGO as a key partner to the EU institutions for oncology and women’s health. Our new Articles of Association (AoA) reflect this shift, reinforcing our commitment to advocacy and collaboration with the European Commission.

ESGO COUNCIL IN BRUSSELS 7

By relocating to Brussels, ESGO aims to bring the voice of gynaecological cancer patients to the heart of Europe. Through partnerships with EU institutions, we aim to actively participate in grant programmes like the Cancer Mission, EU4Health, and other key initiatives, driving clinical research and promoting advancements in gynaecological oncology.

Our new office in Brussels, Belgium, will focus on ESGO advocacy policy and EU Grants support, while operations will remain based in Prague, Czech Republic.

ESGO strongly believes that its presence in Brussels will enhance its mission to collaborate, promote, and sustain any effort to improve gynaecological cancer care across Europe, thanks to European support.

On this occasion, I would like to thank you for your unwavering commitment and support.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of women facing gynaecological cancers—now, from Brussels, the heart of Europe!

Sincerely,

Prof. Anna Fagotti, Italy

ESGO President

On behalf of the ESGO Council
