Call for Editor-in-Chief
International Journal of Gynecological Cancer

Dear colleagues,

In 2003, the ESGO agreed with the IGCS to join forces on development of a scientific journal and jointly publish the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer. The journal became jointly owned by both societies and an official journal of ESGO. ESGO nominated the Associate Editor-in-Chief and 50% of the newly established Editorial Board. There has been excellent development of the Journal over the past years due to the hard work of Dr John J. Kavanagh, Editor-in-Chief, who brought the Journal to a ranking of 33/59 (Obstetrics & Gynecology) and 106/127 (Oncology) and increased the impact factor to 1.469.

The mandate of the current Editorship terminates in 2008. From 2009-2014 ESGO has an excellent opportunity to take an even more active role and increase European visibility in the Journal by nominating the Editor-in-Chief IJGC.

In order to run the nomination in the most democratic and transparent way, both Societies agreed on running the selection process as an open job appointment. All ESGO Active (=European) members who fulfill the eligibility criteria, are able to apply for the vacancy.
